FOX ISLAND R.R.

We are very excited to finally announce the construction of our brand new Private Railroad here in Nashville, Tennessee! The property will contain three lines: a 3.5" gauge Elevated Highline, a 1" Scale 4.75" gauge Groundline, as well as a separate 7.5" gauge, roughly 3" scale narrow gauge groundline.

The Railroad will be built primarily to serve a small Homestead, and to exercise Live Steam equipment on a regular basis. Altogether the lines will eventually create a network of several miles of backyard railroad track, running through fields and Dixieland wilderness, across several creeks to a small Farm Stand. We ultimately hope to hold one large Invitational Meet for fellow live steamers annually.

We are currently not accepting visitors or visiting equipment during construction stages, but stay tuned here as well as on YouTube for further updates!

Highline Car Barn

This little simple storage shed was a fun weekend project! Love being able to leave some 3.5" equipment out on the railroad between steam-ups. The Highline is progressing nicely, Check out the video below to see how I built the first section!

1 Inch Scale Trestle Bridge

January, 2023

Built from scrap Southern Yellow Pine stud lumber we had laying around.  Char-treated, all lumber burned individually with MAP. Holding up great!
